BreyerFest Artisans’ Gallery

Breyer Animal Creations would like to invite the Fallen Leaves Community to take part in our BreyerFest Artisans’ Gallery. For those of you not familiar our Gallery, it takes place during BreyerFest, July 23-25, and is held in the Holiday Inn North ballroom. The Gallery offers a unique place for equine artists and craftsmen to display and present their work for sale. Artists will be listed in the BreyerFest Program, our website and in Just About Horses magazine. Media may be original sculpture, bronze, wood, resin, clay, acrylic painting, watercolor painting, oil painting, pencil portraiture, custom tack and customized Breyer models.

Subject should be equine related, but may also include other animal subjects as well. Artists will need to submit a complete application, including fees, and send photos or samples of their work for review by Breyer. All accepted artists will be notified by June 1, 2010. Join artists such as Kristina Lucas Francis, Thomas Bainbridge and Sommer Prosser as they showcase their fine creations.

Breyerfest Single Day Tickets Available Now

Single day tickets for Breyerfest are now available in the Breyer Shop. Tickets are $20.00 for adult and $10.00 for children, with each ticket you will receive your choice of two available SMs. Oscar is on the Rearing Arabian mold decked out in a tux paint job and Emmy is on the Saddlebred mold.

Breyer’s Elvis Presley Collection To Launch at BreyerFest

The horse-loving spirit of Elvis will ride again this summer when Elvis Presley Enterprises, Inc. and Breyer join forces to launch Breyer’s Elvis Presley Collection of the horses of Graceland at BreyerFest this summer!

The Breyer Elvis Presley Collection is a tribute to Elvis and Priscilla Presley’s favorite horses, past and present, and the collection will be launched at BreyerFest this year to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the birth of the King of Rock ‘n’ Roll.

“As always, we’re launching the Breyer Elvis Presley Collection with a collectible Traditional® Series portrait model of Elvis’ registered American Quarter Horse Rising Sun, a gorgeous palomino named in honor of one of his favorite songs,” said Stephanie Macejko, Vice President of Marketing and Product Development at Breyer. “The model of Rising Sun will be available at BreyerFest.”

Priscilla Presley will join in the celebration on July 23-24 to share her love of horses and support of equine welfare. Three of the horses currently living at Graceland, Max adopted after being rescued, and Bandit and Tucker, were rescued through her efforts. Priscilla will sign models of Rising Sun at BreyerFest.*

“Elvis enjoyed horses and loved having them at Graceland,” said Priscilla Presley. “I’m happy to share this part of his legacy with the equestrian world in this anniversary year, and to add my voice to those who support equine welfare.”

BreyerFest will also launch the opening of the Elvis Presley Graceland Stables Exhibit at the International Museum of the Horse at the Kentucky Horse Park.

The exhibit, borrowed from the vaults at Graceland, will include Elvis’ saddles and bridles, video footage of the family riding, and other historic archival materials on loan from the stable at Graceland.

The exhibit will open BreyerFest weekend and will be on display throughout the Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games, to be held Sept. 25-Oct. 10, 2010.

Entry forms for the model horse show at Breyerwest are now available for download on Breyer’s Website. Breyerwest is June 11th-13th at the Western States Horse Expo.

Breyer Smokin Hot Chic SR

Smokin Hot Chic is a new Breyer’s new traditional special run on the swish tail Lady Phase mold available at QuarterFest. The event is at Middle Tennessee State University in Murfreesboro, Tennessee on April 30th through May 1st. Breyer will have a booth set up with 2010 models and stablemate painting for the kids. No word on price but there is a special price for AQHA members.

2011 Collector’s Choice Model Voting

Breyer has picked 3 finalist for the 2011 Collector’s Choice Model. Voting now open and will continue until April 5th, you can vote for your choice at breyer’s ballot on the survey monkey website. The finalist are on the Big Ben, Bouncer, and Ethereal molds.

“Black Ice” is a Rocky Mountain Horse done on the Ethereal mold #582 with a glossy dappled dark chocolate coat and a white mane and tail. He has a star and snip on his handsome face. As Meghan told us, in this color, the diluting gene has lightened the mane and tail to a white while leaving the body a very dark chocolate, nearly black color. This is a very unusual color, even on Rocky Mountain Horses, and it is rarely seen on any other breed.Submitted by Meghan Gill of Woodinville, WA.

A Pinto Sport Horse on Big Ben mold #483 as a glossy charcoal pinto with a white mane and tail and three high stockings. We added a beautiful classic bald face to complete this gorgeous model. Suggested by Kellie DeFosset of Bethalto, IL.

March/April Connoisseur “Spot On”

Spot on is a lovely Appaloosa mare and is the 43rd edition of the Connoisseur line. She is beautifully detailed by Karen Williams on the Susan Carleton Sifton sculpture with mottled skin, white sclera, a spotted blanket and striped hooves. Spot On is the 43rd edition in a limited run of 350 pieces marked by the number on her hoof. A Certificate of Authenticity is included.
